Introduction
Portrait
The first Liechtenstein scout unit was established 1931 in Schaan. It already welcomed girls by 1938. In the year 1983, the Rover of Schaan mounted the summit cross on the Kuhgrat. Since 1991, the unit Schaan/Planken is located in the Schmetta after energetically contributing to its construction. The scouts of Schaan are the only unit to wear their neckerchief under the uniform collar.
The unit Schaan/Planken counts around 80 members, which frequently meet up for national and intern activities. They also take active part in the village life trough events such as the environment cleaning, the Schaaner Fäscht and the St. Nicholas market. Once a year, its members clear out the forest to refit the club finances. In the autumn of 2009, the first Mormile meeting for kids under the age of six took place, setting a milestone in the history of the Pfadfinder und Pfadfinderinnen Liechtensteins.
Alongside the summer camp the tarpaulin camp during Pentecost, when everyone is responsible for his or her own culinary well-being, is a highlight of the annual program.
