Patronage

The Princely Family of Liechtenstein has a strong connection to the scout movement by forming the patronage of the Pfadfinder und Pfadfinderinnen Liechtensteins. In this function, they support the organization ideational.

Their closeness to the scout movement is also reflected in the fact, that the first groups were founded by Prince Franz I. and Princess Elsa from Liechtenstein. In addition, many members of the princely family have actively engaged in the Pfadfinder und Pfadfinderinnen Liechtensteins. Prince Emanuel was the Chief Scout of the Fürstlich Liechtensteinischen Pfadfinderkorps St. Georg for 36 years. His successor was Prince Nikolaus until 1989, when the two corps were merged into a single organization with an elected leadership. The two were appointed honorary members of the Pfadfinder und Pfadfinderinnen Liechtensteins for their merits.
